A fine, original large scale oil on board by Marianne Cox, pleasing bucolic winter landscape with sweeping snow drifts, frost bitten trees and imposing dark skies.

The artist has used both bold strokes that excellently capture the drifting movement in the building snow as well as a finer, more delicately executed application which depicts the brutal harshness of winter on the barren tree limbs. The frame has also been painted in similar palette simply adding to the scale of the unspoiled view, giving it a never-ending feel.
