An absorbing impressionist coastal scene by London artist, John Chapman Wallis (1871-1942)

Timeless oil on canvas coastal view looking back towards the Cornish harbour village, Polperro. Signed lower left and presented in an ornate period frame.

Wallis, born in Hammersmith London, was the son of Joseph Haythorn Wallis (1831-1913) renowned architect and artist.

Frame and painting in excellent colour and condition with no sign of overpainting. Very slight paint shrinkage can be seen but remains stable. The painting is sold ready to hang.
