Beautiful Impressionist Landscape by Frederick O' Neill Gallagher.

Stunning oil on canvas garden in the dawn light with children.

Signed lower right, dated September 1914 and presented in an ornate period frame.

Gallagher, an Irish landscape painter, spent much of his life painting in France south of Paris. He was fascinated by the French Post-Impressionist School of Painters, and his work is reminiscent of Monet.  Gallagher used a constrained palette of muted blues, greys, pinks, and greens to convey the hazy summer morning light.

Gallagher exhibited in London and Dublin and In 1910 he exhibited at the New English Art Club. An example of his work is currently on display at the Ulster Museum, Belfast.

Frame and painting in excellent colour and condition with no sign of overpainting.
