Early 20th Century Still Life of Flowers by William Thornton Brocklebank (1882-1970)

A naturalistic yet loose, accomplished Impressionist oil on board, summer flowers in a green vase, signed lower right and presented in a brand new, custom made solid wood frame.

William Thornton Brocklebank was a painter in oils mostly of landscapes, coastal scenes and flowers. In 1920 Brocklebank moved to Newlyn, Cornwall and married Winifred Snell, also an artist. Brocklebank was a member of the Plymouth Art Society and exhibited over a 20 year period.
