DESMOND V.C JOHNSON (British 1922-2022) Dartmouth Landscape, Oil on Board

Bucolic impressionist landscape scene in autumnal colours with distant birds in flight.

Presented in a solid wood frame in a black and gold finish, signed lower left corner and titled verso.

Desmond was born in Dartmouth in 1922 and studied at the Falmouth School of Art. His work is listed in the National Archives and has won several awards, including first prize at a national exhibition at Plymouth Guildhall and a first prize at Devon County show. His paintings have found their way to international collections including the USA, Europe and Australia.

The painting is in good condition and in strong colour with some light surface marks from old varnish.
