18th Century Italian School Oil on Panel Portrait, The Tambourine Girl

A fine, 18th Century Italian school oil on panel. Three quarter length portrait depicting a forlorn young girl holding a tambourine. She stands in soft light against a dark wall that creeps with ivy, her head slightly hangs, possibly indicating recent loss or grief of a loved one.

The painting has areas of loss but remains stable, the panel has a fracture line, however does not affect the structure or integrity of this wonderful piece.
