Large 17th Century half length portrait in the manner of Sir Peter Lely, oil on canvas.

Superb quality portrait of a young beauty sporting a chestnut coloured dress and pearl necklace, her hair elegantly curled is complimented by her stunning dark brown eyes and soft thoughtful gaze.

Presented in an ornate gilt wood frame, overall in excellent period condition with minor areas of loss to chest, arm and lower left as shown. The canvas shows stable craquelure as to be expected and has likely been re-varnished in the past.
